It is said that when promises are fulfilled, dreams becomes reality and the future truly assured. This succinctly captured the feelings of the management and staff of Cross River Institute of Technology and Management (CR–ITM), Ugep when His Excellency the Deputy Governor of CRS, Professor Ivara Esu visited the project site of the Signature Building in the Institute. Prof Esu described the Signature Building as the “SOUL” of CR–ITM, designed to house the faculty of Engineering, Architecture and other innovative and vocational programmes. He further stressed that the completion of the building is of paramount importance, not just to the Institution but to CROSS RIVER STATE at large, due to her core mandate of bridging the technical man-power gap within the state and beyond.
On a tour of the site, the Deputy Governor was impressed with the level of work done, but still urged the contractors to speed up the construction process as the building should be completed and ready for commissioning and use by January next year for the proper take-off of the new academic session.
The Deputy Governor assured the Management of His Excellency’s commitment in releasing funds for the completion phase of the building, stating emphatically that “Funds will no longer be an impediment for the completion of the project”.
The Bursar of the Institute, Mr Lucky Ugboko, who represented the Rector who is currently out of the country on an important engagement welcomed the entourage, and was delighted to have the Deputy Governor in the Institute. Mr Ugboko spoke extensively about the new innovations ranging from the slash in fee price and the infusion of technology-based courses and modules into her curriculum, keeping the Institute in line with the dynamics of the global labor arena.
He further appreciated His Excellency’s effort on behalf of the Institute for the timely and prompt intervention of the State Government on getting the contractors back on site.
