The Governor speaking through the Secretary to the State Government Barrister Tina Banku Agbor on the occasion of the 3rd matriculation ceremony of The Polytechnic on Saturday 17th March 2017.
Barr Agbor expressed Government readiness to partner with relevant stakeholders in the education sector which has already manifest in the recent partnership with UK schools Company Africa Ltd.
She further briefed Staff, Students and the general public of His Excellency’s commitment in fast tracking the completion of the Signature building to make the Polytechnic one of the leading citadels of learning in southern Nigeria.
The Honourable Commissioner for Education Chief Goddy Ettah who was accompanied by other members of the State executive council including Ntufam Hon Gabriel Odu Oji Commissioner for Water Resources
Hon Timmy Tom Udam Commissioner for Power.
Hon Edem Commissioner for Social Housing reiterated Government desire to reposition the Polytechnic to fulfill her core mandate of bridging the technical manpower skill gap within the State and her environ.
The Rector Mr Christopher Stephen Nicholls while delivering his address thanked the Governor and members the State Executive council for their faith in the Institution and pledged UK Schools Company’s commitment in ensuring the successful management of the Polytechnic in line with international best practices. Other dignitaries at the event include Chief Ani Wellington Chief Consultant to Cross River State Government,HRM Obol Ofem Ubana Eteng, Obol Lopon of Ugep and Paramount Ruler Yakurr Nation and his council of Chiefs, Patrick H. Iwara, Esq, Chairman of CR-ITM Governing Council, Dr Dan Abubakar of Dannex medical centre as well as other National and International partners.
